John Carson is a former Fairfax Media executive with more than 30 years experience in the agricultural sector as a journalist, editor and publisher.
He was an editor and publisher through a period of unprecedented change in the media with the shift from print to digital.
In addition to his role as publisher he was the president of the Rural Press Club of Victoria from 2001-2004 and 2007-08. For this he hosted many high profile politicians and agribusiness leaders including former Prime Minister John Howard and Victorian Premier Jeff Kennett at speaking functions.
He also facilitated various lunch speaker forums and a series of regional debates between candidates leading up to a Victorian election.
As a recognised leader in his field he performed the role of Master of Ceremonies at the annual, national NAB Agribusiness Awards in Melbourne, conducted by Monash University and attended by 350 leading agribusiness executives.
Overall he is a highly regarded expert in the fields of agribusiness and publishing.
